Kashmir Unani Hospital & Research Center is a pioneer research center and hospital in the state of Jammu And Kashmir specialising in Alternative Medicine, Unani Medicine, Acupressure and Acupuncture treatments for regular as well as chronic diseases. We have also been responsible for research in the area of Unani Formulations, IRR, Allied Therapy to name a few. Like all forms of Chinese healing traditions, acupuncture revolves around the concept of maintaining balance and harmony within the body. It is thought that when chi (life energy) becomes stagnant and the flow is disrupted, illness and disease result. In order to restore chi distribution, needles are inserted into acupuncture points along the meridians (energetic pathways) of the body. Due to the large number of potential acupuncture points, (there are in excess of 350 acupoints on the meridians of the body) an acupuncturist carefully selects the points to be used

Acupressure: Acupressure is a type of bodywork that involves pressing specific points on the body with the fingers, knuckles, and palms (and sometimes the elbows and feet) to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote general good health. Developed in China some 5,000 years ago, perhaps out of the natural human instinct to hold or rub a place on the body that hurts, acupressure is part of the holistic system of traditional chinese medicine (TCM) that also includes acupuncture. (Interestingly, the use of acupressure predates acupuncture by some 2,500 years.)
